Broken Security Beep

    ’08 Gen 2 148k. I took the car to Toyota the other day to have the security beep reactivated ( just bought the car and it’s never worked for me , so I assumed it was turned off). They told me that when they hooked it up to the system the beep was already on so the module that makes the sound must be bad. The locks work from the remote and show as working when scanned. Anyone have any idea where the module is? Or where to start to look?

    no, never heard this problem before. i wonder if the former owner clipped the wires. you should be able to find it in the service manual at techinfo.toyota.com
