To brow or not to brow? That is the question. I will be having my silver prii tinted in a couple of weeks. I don't know the percentage yet but thinking of adding a brow. What do you guys think? And oh I was quoted $175 for all windows except the windshield with a written lifetime warranty.
I had never before heard of them called "Brows". I will be tinting my windows before the second summer in my Prius. Last one was a scorcher (in Chicago) and I know that it makes a tremendous difference. In my car, I will be tinting all rear and side windows (rear doors onwards) to 50% tint, though 70% will be investigated as well... For the two front doors, I will have a 35% tint applied, as that is the most that I can legally have in my area. As for costs, I have heard between 195 and 350, so that seems very reasonable. I love the fact that they are offering you a written lifetime warranty. I would jump on that deal if they seemed reputable. (Since we are both in Chicago Area, could you please PM me with the name of the place, if they do a good job?)
I believe you have the nomenclature wrong. You mean 30% rear and 70% front, right? The percentages refers to the amount of light let in. Thus, 70% is a lighter color than 30%.
Im from IL as well and I recommed going 35% all around. That is the darkest legally for all windows. Or you can just do the rear door backward as dark as you want with no tint on the front. BTW I paid $300 for mine so $175 and lifetime warranty sounds like a bargain to me.
This is achieved using a 50% tint all around, for an aggregate of ~37.5% as the glass is already tinted ~75%. Putting a 35% tint on would make it below the legal limit (~26%).
I was referring to the top of the windshield. Should I put a strip of tint on it too or not? I am thinking of going 5% in the back and 35% on the front windows.
