Connecticut does not charge sales tax on any hybrid vehicles with over 40mpg. However, most CT dealers inflate prices significantly (at or above MSRP). Does anyone have experience with purchasing a Prius out of state and registering it in CT? Would that result in any sales tax?
Hey, naid, I wasted a lot of time typing (I'm a slow "hunt & peck" typer) a nice informative post to you about my out of state purchase 2 years ago, but when I submitted it, it gave me a "lost server" message & disappeared (un-recoverable). I get that a lot on PriusOnLine too. I think I get timed out (or something) if I take too long composing & typing (I wonder if I had clicked on the "preview post" box 1st, if that would have "locked it in" prior to click'g the "submit reply" box). At any rate, I'm not going to go through that all over again,so if you you do a private mail (PM) to me (if they have that in this site---I'm pretty new HERE), maybe you can give me your ph # & the best time to call ([I have a low cost flat rate long distance calling plan (if you're not in the Manchester,Ct local call'g area).
