Hello all! Just purchased my first prius, a used 2008 w/ 73k on the dial. I noticed a weird noise when I turn the car off, I hear a buzzing noise coming from the engine compartment when I turn the car off, and it lasts for maybe 30 seconds. Is that normal? Any opinions? Thanks, Paul

Mine often buzzes like that - I believe it might have to do with the hybrid cooling system from what I could tell from my manual.
From what I was told by the dealer, there is a pump under there that moves hot coolant to a "thermos" insulated container. It's saved there and pumped back in to make future engine starts more efficient. Not sure if that's correct, but sounds good to me.
