We just had maybe 5in of snow (wet snow) so it melts fast but I've notice an excessive noise inside the cabin. It only appears when I drive on black pavement where snow melted. When I pull over on a snowy road with less traffic or where road is covered with snow the noise is gone. OEM Tires are Micheline X-Green Is it attributed to the tires or poor under-body isolation? On a dry pavement the car drives just fine, no excessive noise.
Some tires are noisier than others, so that may be part of it. Sound insulation is fairly heavy, and the Prius seems to have less than is typical, in order to save weight. The cabin tends to be noisier in the rain, and especially on gravel roads. If it really bothers you, you can pull up the carpets and add sound insulation. Or just turn up the stereo.
