According to an article at Edmunds.com says: [font=Courier New:044bb88d03]Toyota executives say California is a "strong candidate" as a site to build hybrid vehicles, including the company\'s popular Prius. According to The Wall Street Journal, officials also said a hybrid version of the next Corolla is under consideration for such a plant. Toyota earlier this year said it plans to build a hybrid version of the redesigned 2007 Camry at its plant in Georgetown, Kentucky, beginning in the second half of 2006. If California is picked as the source for U.S. production of a second hybrid, the likeliest place is New United Motor Manufacturing Inc., Toyota\'s joint venture with General Motors in Fremont. That plant currently builds the Corolla-based Pontiac Vibe.[/font:044bb88d03]
