Long story short - Mouse invades my brand new 2012 Prius with 400 miles. I was able to catch and remove the little bugger relatively quickly. After removing the glove box and inspecting for damage I noticed that he didn't do much. Took a few nibbles out of the cabin filter but nothing that would affect it's normal operation, a little nibble out of some insulation behind the passenger foot area directly below the glove box and he damaged the foam strip above the cabin air filter. What exactly is this foam part called? I tried calling the dealer to see if I could order a replacement but they had no idea. I've attached a picture. Can anyone help me with a part number or something to locate a replacement?
Go to your dealer's parts department and have them show you the exploded view of the blower motor and cabin filter housing. From the exploded view you can show him the part in question and he can give you the part number, assuming this part is supplied separately and not part of a larger assembly.
I may have to do that. I live kinda far from the dealer do I was trying to do this over the phone rather than make a trip there but when I called the parts guy was clueless and kept trying to order me a new air filter. I was hoping that maybe another mouse victim may have also needed to replace that thing and might know.
