Today I purchased a 2012 Prius 2. I understand with the Generation 3 they come with The p195/65 R15 tire . With the car that I purchased today might have 5 to 10,000 miles left on those tires I have a 2008 Prius that I will be selling off as Parts only but the P185/65r15 tires are 3 months old and have less than 5,000 miles on them. The person that is interested in purchasing my 2008 Prius could care less what tires are on it. So can I take the OEM size tires of a generation 2 Prius and put them on a generation 3 Prius?? If I'm able to then once the generation 2 oem size tires need replaced I will be going back to the Generation 3 OEM tire size.
Ditto, Gen 2 tires are fine with Gen 3... Only one thing of concern is TPMS.... Gen 3 rims has Tire Pressure Monitoring Sensors, and Gen 2 doesn't. You may want to swapping out the sensors to the rims you are using, or you will see tire pressure warning light on dash... Tire Size Calculator Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
