Happy New Year All! I replaced my rear brakes yesterday and when I went to bleed them (also replaced the wheel cylinders), I used the quick bleed method successfully on the LR but on the RR there seems to be no pressurized fluid present. On the LR I could hear the motor running as the fluid ran into my container, but on the RR the motor just momentarily runs which I gather is it building pressure and shutting off. Any thoughts on why I cannot get fluid at the bleed screw? I know these systems are complicated and this may be a solenoid or something that is not opening for some reason. Thanks for any assistance!
Happy new year! Did you put the system into ECB invalid mode, or disconnect the power, before doing your brake work? If not, it is possible that the system detected your open RR line as a leak and has valved it off for safety. Are there brake warning lights on the dash and, if so, have you retrieved the trouble codes? If that is what happened, the system may keep that line valved off until reset.
Thanks for the reply! OK, I bet that's what happened, as when I was working on the left side, I changed the wheel cylinder and bled a lot of fluid out to clean out the old fluid. I didn't change the RR cylinder as I could not get the brake line out of the cylinder and since it wasn't leaking I left it. Since then as I suspected a stuck or clogged cylinder I removed it by disconnecting the line upstream and pulling the line and cylinder out together. I did not do any of the steps you mentioned, I just depressed the pedal and let the actuator pump fluid. I'll research how to reset things.
