What does the Touring have that can be added to the base They must have made the touring to accomondate the people that wanted better handling. Anyone know of lowering kit for this car
The differences are: 1. Stiffer suspension. 2. 16" wheels. 3. Larger rear spoiler. 1. You can get a TRD suspension for the Prius. You can also add the BT stiffening plate. 2. 16" wheels are not hard to find. Try to stick to ones that are as light as or lighter than stock. 3. I'm sure you can buy the spoiler from the parts dept. of your favourite dealer. It's less expensive to buy a Touring model, than to "upgrade" the standard model. Similarly equipped, a touring is about $300 more than a standard model. The TRD suspension is over $1000 by itself. Wheels would cost in the $1500 range with tires. I don't even want to know how much the parts dept. will charge for the spoiler. You may even be able to trade in your standard for a touring for less overall than the "upgrades".
Yep, what David said. You can buy the 16" Euro wheels and "Type-B" spoiler from Sigma Automotive. You can't get the exact same suspension but you can install TOM'S or TRD's suspension set.
Doesn't the Touring model also have VSC and HID headlights? MUCH better just to buy the Touring model!
She should already have VSC and HIDs on her '07 since it's a package 6. I went for package 2 specifically to get the VSC program.
If you need a lowering kit you should have my prius, it hits every speed bump and parking curb, I wish it was jacked up... but I was used to a 4x4 too.
THANKS! I don't want to lower, just better handling. Where can i get the trd set up, and does it lower it or just give a better ride.

Or search online. I looked a few months ago and as I recall, it lowers the car a tiny bit and stiffens up the suspension.
