New owner Gen III Prius IV. What if the car's battery is dead from leaving an accessory light on you need to position the car to jump it. What if you had to tow the car and it's stuck in your garage? With a manual transmission I could easily move a car. Okay maybe I'm overly worried over nothing.
I think that is a good question. If the car does not power up, I can't see how you can put it into Neutral and thus move it. I can't remember seeing anything about that in the OM.
Not trying to nit pik here but I think the power plugs are dead unless the the vehicle goes into ready mode? I had read about the Gen II someone had come up with a mod that you could have power to the power plug all the time.
This is correct. Without a plug modification, you need to jump from the battery or under the hood at the jump points. It is correct that you can't shift into N without 12V power. You can jump from either end of the car, so there is always that option. In addition, the Prius needs very little current for a jump, so it's easy to use a long piece of zip cord to jump if you need to go some distance. Tom
