As the title states, I'm using Techstream via a VCI cable on a windows laptop. I've been trying to program a new fob for my 2013 v and it keeps failing on the final step when it asks to leave the fob on the passenger seat. When it prompts, I touch the original fob to the ignition and I hear a beep. Then I touch the ignition with the new fob and hear another beep. But it doesn't detect the new fob where ever I leave it on the passenger side. Anyone have any ideas as to what I'm doing wrong? The youtube videos I've seen, look instantaneous when it comes to the final step of leaving the fob on the passenger seat. I bought a brand new key fob that's designated for the v model #89904-47230 from a Toyota autoparts dealer. The FCC ID HYQ14ACX matches with the original fob. I've tried numerous combinations (in accessory mode and with the engine running), trying the classic registration method as well as and disabling my smart key function. I've also tried separating the fobs from each other like leaving it outside of the vehicle as per the instructions. The new fob has a new battery.
So I got the key fob in 2017 and totally forgot I bought this used... This explains why it wasn't working! Yeah, I was super lazy in getting this all setup... I'll need to to a SKS reset and obtain a passcode. Found a great thorough guide here Smart Keys: Replacement Info & How-To | Toyota Nation Forum
