I downloaded the EnTune upgrade patch to upgrade from the factory software but the head unit wouldn't recognize it. I checked around and found out that it doesn't work for Canadian Prius v. I'd really like to get Apple CarPlay and Spotify. Is there any workaround here? Or do I have to get a third-party head unit? If so, any recommendations? **** 2016 Prius v, tech package (Canadian) with about 72,000 kms.
You need Entune3.0 hardware to support Apple CarPlay which the Prius v does not have. Additionally, the Prius v did not come with Entune in Canada (it was disabled at port). It's also version 2.x. Workaround? Well if you have the integrated factory nav (which I think you do with the Tech pack), you can stream spotify via BT audio from your phone.
Would replacing the extension module enable upgrades (on Canadian 2012 Prius v, stereo 57015)? If not, how about changing the whole head unit for a 57011?
