If it’s for extra stuff like different sounds or connected services, fine. But if it’s for options that could’ve been a one-time purchase, even if it’s software, that should not be subscription-based or, at the minimum, require a purchase option that doesn’t expire (none of this, oh our servers are being retired so that thing you bought 5 years ago will no longer work crap).
