    If one were to do a political reading if that cartoon, one would assume that the half-eagle represented patriotism while the half-elephant represents the Republican party. Kinda ironic then that the cartoon alludes to a Japanese car that conserves fossil fuels :)

    The eagle / donkey / elephant "hybrid" appears so inappropriate to its purpose that I would assume the cartoonist thinks hybrids are a really dumb idea.
