I replaced my gen 2 prius with a new oem hybrid battery, and now it lights up but wont start. im pretty sure i did everything correctly but.. well idk.. the obd tool i use connected, but wouldnt read any codes. here is what the dash looks like.
What OBD tool do you use? Do you have power on the OBDII port's pin 16? Posting the codes you have would definitely help. For example, if you were to post you had P0A0D, we could advise you to check whether the service plug grip has been installed properly. Most people fail to complete step three, for some reason.
When you press the start button do you hear the 2 clicks of the relay by the traction battery? For sure check the safety tab as Dolj suggested.
Ive checked the orange safety tab already for 5-6 times and as far as i can tell its 100% seated. As for the OBD scan tool It doesnt read at all. It connects fine the obd tool lights up as usual, but no codes/cant read. Its a veepeek cheap one, but it always worked before. The only thing is i let the 12v battery die and im currently trying to trickle charge it. Im not sure if thats the cause, since the car and dash lit up.
also wanted to add, i followed ALL the plugs and instructions exactly. i took pictures of every plug/section from multiple angles, the plates, pins, etc. and put everything back, i assumed 100% correctly. I double checked everything with pictures, before and after assembling each part. Im not saying i didnt make a mistake with that part, but if i think i did well in reassembly.
I dont know exactly how the "clicks" sound, but i do hear some noise which could be interpreted as 2 clicks. However the car doesnt start/get into ready mode after that. On the screen it shoes the traction battery has 60% charged, which im not sure if its a current reading, cause the old battery was always purple.
