My used 2007 Prius with bisque interior came without the cargo cover (previously in a lease fleet and I guess that they just didn't turn it in). I've been monitoring ebay for a couple of weeks and all I ever see are gray cargo cover. Is there such a thing as a bisque cargo cover and how do I find one? Do I just to be patient for one to show up on ebay?
Yes, there's a bisque cargo cover. It's standard with the bisque interior (like mine.) I hope you find one. It seems pretty essential when you're traveling or shopping.
There's one available now: eBay Motors: Toyota Prius Tonneau cover OEM Tan/Ivory color nice (item 280220853663 end time Jul-22-08 11:42:18 PDT) But it's overpriced at $200. I think most eBay sales of Prius Tonneau Covers go for around $100 or less. BTW, when you're monitoring eBay, try several search terms, e.g., "Prius Cargo Cover"; "Prius Tonneau Cover"; "Prius Cargo Shade". Good luck. I think you'll be able to find one eventually for around $100.
Are you absolutely sure it's not under the cargo area in it's storage place? If not....eBay is your friend.
thanks to all for the replies, I have been off-line for a couple of days. Godiva, I did look under the cargo area, no luck. Boo, I am continuing to monitor eBay with various input titles. Finally, Koekc, I think that "standard" is the key work. I spoke with the searvice department at the dealership where I purchased. He tried to looked up the part under "accessories", and couldn't find it. I suggested that maybe it was because it wasn't considered an "accessory" but "standard equipment"? He liked that idea and is looking into how it might be able to be covered under warranty service, as in delivered without tonneau cover. I called a few days later and he is still looking into it. Thanks again, all.
On the 2008 models the tonneau cover is included with Package 1 and higher, but is not standard in the base model. So if the 2007's are similar, technically it may not be "standard." But let's hope your dealer comes up with a free replacement. I consider it an essential theft deterrent (out of sight, out of mind). I bought a new 1989 Camry wagon with a package that did not include one, and it was so important to me that I paid $200 (outrageous!) to the dealer to order a new one. That was before the time when ebay made unusual items like that more accessible. My guess is that the lessee stole it and has it up on ebay - that's probably where most of those items come from. I did not realize that there is a storage area under the deck for the cover. Is that covered in the instruction manual somewhere? [Edit: Just looked, and it's there! It's also in the manual. I did not realize. :noidea: ]
The tonneau cover was definitely standard in 2007, as were wheel trim rings, cruise control, pockets on back of front seats, and heated outside mirrors. 2008 was the first year Toyota came out with a relatively stripped model without those 5 previously standard items.
