I an driving in the middle of PennsyLTuckyarKana and my warning light comes on and the Toyota dealer says catalytic' convertor and oxygen sensor needs replaced (says the computer). they have no spares for three days. I have to get back on the road. I need to get home 600 miles away. What should I do? what are my options?

They don't see many hybrids in This part of the outback! thank you!

the cat is an emissions issue. the o2 sensor might cause the car to run rough or even stall out if it's really bad. at least that's what happened on my last (non-prius) car.

If it was me and the car seemed to be running ok I'd drive it home. Not sure if that's the smartest thing to do, but I'd still chance it.

How many miles do you have on the car. The O2 sensor should last at least 75k miles and Cat should last 125k or better. My suggestion drive on.

You don't say what year the car is or what mileage you have on it, but some people have had O2 issues when new, due to the coatings burning off everything and fouling the sensor. Need more info.
