Catalytic converter theft of late model V?

Are the later models (2015+) as prone to catalytic converter theft as the earlier ones? My neighbor's CC was recently stolen off their older model. I have read they are more common on 2011 and earlier, but I can't find anything that suggests later models are not subject to CC theft, only that there are some hoses that may impeded such theft.
