I'm the proud owner of a new (to me) 2002 Prius. One odd thing is that the previous owner raised the center console to make it into an armrest. He did so by removing the console, bolting three 2x4s to the body, and then re-mounting the console on the wood. A bit odd, but it is actually comfortable. I was going to get the dealer to take them out before delivery, but my wife said to keep them. However, the wood is just a bit odd. Is there an aftermarket replacement that would have an armrest instead of just a hidden cubbyhole at seat level? Phil
Yes, but I haven't heard about them in a couple of years. I heard someone was making them and selling them on e-Bay. I also heard about them on the Yahoo group, toyota_prius, which is mostly owners of the '01-'03 model and where there was lots of discussion of the armrest. If you can't find it by searching there first, simply post (after registering) what you're looking for. They're helpful.
