According to my 2012 PIP owner's manual, there is a way to change the factory default A/C settings in such a way so as to keep the A/C light off when the "AUTO" climate-control button is pressed. In other words, instead of having to press the A/C button to turn the A/C light off, there is a way to adjust the settings so as to require us to press the A/C button in order to turn the A/C light on. The manual then refers me to the navigation system users guide, which makes no mention of how to do this. Has anyone done this and if so, can you kindly share the instructions? Thanks!
I believe when the Owners Manual refers to "Navigation System", it means the system that comes installed in the PiP Advanced. The Base system is usually referred to as "Display Audio" or "Display Audio with Navigation". So, I dont think this is possible with the PiP Base (I dont think its possible with the PiPA either, but I could be totally wrong). The manual references a few things that just aren't available on any PiP (such as being able to display the TPMS information on the display screen).
Ok. The manual also states that the dealer can do this for you as well (option #3). I'm tempted to ask for this.
