This may have been answered down thread and if so kindly direct me. Is there a cradle or thingie so you can charge an I-Phone in the provided Prime cradle. I was told, simply placing a cell phone there and turning on the console only works for Android. What do you need to buy and where, at what cost, for I-phone? Or is there no easy solution? What if, if no easy solution, what is the hard solution?
Just an FYI - it doesn't work on all Android phones, it only works if they support Qi wireless charging. My Pixel doesn't and neither do several other phones I have owned. Only one out of about 6 Android phones I have owned support Qi wireless charging. There are adapters that can support Qi charging but understand it is rather slow charging and you either have to deal with a dongle hanging off your phone when you want to use regular charging or you have to put on and take off a case each time. I am considering buying a Qi charge adapter for my phone for roadtrips but otherwise will not use it.
You can buy a QI wireless adaptor and convert your phone over to wireless charging for $40.00 from Amazon. I actually like this method on my iPhone 6s and plan on adding other charging pads at my office and home. Mine is in a wallet and QI adaptor is not even noticeable paper thin.
I have a qi wireless charger and base I got from Amazon for both my work and personal iPhone 6s. Total cost, $12.99 plus tax and it's Prime eligible too. Reports here have been that the thing only charges at 300-400mA even when it works. That would make it essentially useless to me so I stopped searching for a charging solution for my phone when I found that out. I have a dual 2000mA charger in my 12V power outlet now. It can charge mine and my wife's phone even while in active use. When my phone is in nav mode with the screen on, it consumes around 700mA of current so the Qi charger wouldn't even keep up.
