Hey I got this cool Li batt from Amazon for just $25! I am using to power a fish finder where one would normally use a Lead-Acid batt battery cheap but 4-5 lbs at least. The Li batt is small the size of deck of cards, and it is feather light, weighs less than a deck of cards. 3.80 amp hours which I think gets me at least 6 hrs. Only downside is slow charge up 8-hrs but I really like it. Previously when I looked small Li batts were $150, but this China import is great. As you may know, instructions are brief and lost in translation. So read Amazom comments for tips. Go to Walmart and look at the small hobby lead acid batts, and I think they want $30-50 for those and they are so heavy in comparison. New ballgame here.
I just started using rechargeable 18650 cells in some of my flashlights that call for 2 disposable 123 cells
...had not heard about these 18650's (I see they are on Amazon), but maybe that's what's inside the 12v Li batt I got. If the 123 cells are what I am thinking of, if you take one apart you see it is just a stack of small button batteries.
I'm not sure. I know the 123 cells were common in cameras a while back. I think they used to be called "photo 123" or something like that. This is what I got off amazon. The 18650 cell is what is used in laptop batteries. And the tesla roadster houses about 6800 of them. Not too sure about the model S though.
