2014 Prius Plug-In 85,000 miles Originally my girfriend plugged in the car and the next day it had the yellow warning light and said Check hybrid system, pull over to a safe location. The car started and drove fine but the battery was low. I figured there was an electrical issue in the house while charging or she didn't plug it in correctly. Anyways I pulled the code with torque and got P0D81. I reset the code and all has been good for a month. Now the same thing happened where I only had 1 mile on the battery and the same warnings as before. I was using a different charging cable this time, so I don't think that is the issue. I plugged it back in after taking it for a spin and it charged fine. Has anyone else had this issue? My google research doesn't give me much information on this code. Is Torque not able to read the more detailed codes that Toyota would see? I haven't pulled the codes this time around yet.
hard to say, you might be fine. of course, it is always a good idea to use tech stream. it might be worthwhile checking/cleaning the battery cooling fans, ductwork and intake grilles.
