I have a brand new Prius II, and the car was functioning as normal since yesterday, however this morning my car displays "Check Hybrid System" and I can't drive the car..... Last 2 events happened... 1. I was in process of installing after market amp, and I had removed EV battery orange safty plug last night to inspect the trunk area... it was plugged in after 10 mins... 2. When I open the trunk this morning, the rain water dripped down around the hydrolics and into the side channel, then ran into the black rear light covers.... if anyone know how to restart my car to get it working, please help!!
Check the high voltage battery safety plug again and all connections around the traction battery. Try the start-stop cycle 3 times. If you have same scanner check ECUs error codes. IMHO the water inside rear lights compartment would not cause this major error message.
Check your Owner's Manual page 539 for the "emergency start function". To paraphrase what it says: 1. set the parking brake 2. push the power button, foot not on brake, and put the car in the accessory mode 3. hold the brake down and then hold the power button in for 15 seconds If that don't work you may need to get it towed in. Good luck.
As PaJa mentioned, check the plug-in clasp. Someone else on here had the same problem because the clip was not securely fastened. http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...alfunction.html?highlight=Check+Hybrid+System
The guy who fitted my meter and two way radio spent about an hour worrying that he had damaged the car when it wouldn't start after he'd wired the radio up. Turned out he hadn't clicked the plug back in properly.
