Hello, I'm wondering if there is anyway to test the effectiveness or quality of the engine or inverter coolant. I can't seem to find anything online for testing Toyota SLLC. Thanks for your help.
It's a safe bet to change it out based on mileage. 100k miles and then every 50k afterwards. This is in the owners manual
I was able to pull my service history and found that the inverter coolant had been changed at 60,000 miles in 2012 due to a recall with the inverter coolant pump. The car is now at 90,000 miles. I'll assume that based upon that information I will be able to wait a bit longer before having it replaced. I already replaced the ICE coolant when I had to do the coolant storage tank control valve replacement. I appreciate your time and thoughts on this matter.
Don't assume that the inverter coolant was changed when the inverter pump was replaced, even if the documentation says it happened. The procedure calls for replacement of the fluid, but it is quicker to clamp off the hoses, change the pump, and top off the system. Most dealer mechanics will do whatever is quickest, since they are being paid a flat rate per job. My inverter pump was replaced, and I'll change the coolant at 100K miles.
