My local prairie restoration group just had their annual meeting, and our guest speaker was Linda Breuer of Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation. They take in many wounded animals, primarily birds, and she brought along an American Kestrel and red-tailed hawk. Anyway, they're having a fundraiser, kinda expensive, $75/ticket but a limited amount of tickets for sale, top prize is a new Ford Explorer Hybrid. http://www.flintcreekwildlife.org/ I'm not associated with FCWR, but I just feel it's a very worthwhile organization. They run the bird center on Northerly Island (formerly known as Meig's Field), as well as their base of operations in Barrington.
