Well, it did a good job! My dad is getting up there in years (88) and I went to his house in Marysville a few days ago and saw he left a trail of some sort of "blue stuff" across the kitchen vinyl floor. He is a great believer in Formula 409, so I searched around until I found a spray bottle of 409 and merrily sprayed it on a paper towel and cleaned up the kitchen floor. For some reason, I forgot to put away the 409 and left it atop his refrigerator. My sister called today and asked why I put a bottle of Malathion atop the refrigerator. What? Turns out dear old dad had repurposed the 409 bottle (who knows when -- had to have been a few years ago) and put a small strip of masking tape on the back saying Malathion. I should have know better. He is famous for reusing all sorts of bottles and not really labeling them, or putting them in odd places. Well, it got rid of the "blue stuff<" and I still don't know what that was. It may explain why I had a bit of nausea the other night. He thinks it's funny and that I am a fool...hmm.
Mama always said..... Could have been worse......and if the blue-stuff was in a spray bottle then it was 'probably' ready to dispense....
I remember that they used it on the Med fly in California many years, ago. The idiot in charge of thr spraying program actually drank malathion to prove it was safe. 1989 California medfly attack - Wikipedia It was like Thomas Midgely who drank tetra-ethyl lead in an attempt to prove it was safe. He got lead poisoning.
My father used to spray Malathion around my mother's copious orchid collection in the yard periodically. It has an awful smell, which you didn't mention. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
