Clear "guard" stickers on rear doors and edge.

    This is probably a really silly question (and I can't find any answer to this with search since it always brings up topics on the OEM door edge guards), but there's some clear adhesive on the bottom edge of body at the back door and a triangle on the actual back door of the same material. The edges are starting to curl so I'd really like to take them off, since I'm assuming they were only there for shipping purposes, but they're not really coming off easily (not as easily as the lifting edges would imply anyway).

    What's the best way to do this? Just wipe them down with some warm water or take a hair dryer to them for a while? They're much more stubborn than the dealer badges! :D

    I'd go back to the dealer and make them replace them .... they are not just for shipping ... they should easily last the life of the car. Most Toyotas have them in one form or another ... at least my Corolla S and RAV4 had them.

    I agree, it should stay on the car as OEM. If you are out of warranty than buy a sheet of clear bra and use them as a pattern to make replacements.

    OK, I didn't realize they were meant to stay on the car (they honestly don't look like they accomplish much), but on my first maintenance visit I'll ask about getting them replaced. It's not really worth the hassle to make a trip just for them.

    Whatever you do, DO NOT use WD40. It will take your clearcoat off not initially if you spray it on but will after a few wipes. Ask me how.

    IIRC, they are located in the areas most susceptible to road dirt/rock chips/etc. as a result of wind tunnel testing. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

    They shouldn't curl. Get them replaced under warranty at your next visit.
