Cluster Goes Off When Lights are On

    When I turn my car's lights on my entire instrument cluster readout goes dark/black (shifter, MPH, fuel gauge & odometer). The only thing that remains on is the READY light, and the passenger airbag light all the way to the right side. Is this normal? I have never driven my car at night due to bad eyesight, but had to last night and noticed this.

    P.S. - Not sure if it's related, but my instrument cluster did go dead a few weeks back, though it came back on when I restarted my car the next morning, and hasn't happened since.

    no, not normal. did you try adjusting the dimming wheel? maybe you need a new cluster

    It's just the dimmer switch... Spin the switch a little.
