I was trying to get some help on the newbie forum so I post here I replaced rear drums and shoes on my 08 Prius When removing the shoes on the rear left wheel I wanted to check for leaks under the rubber boot and by mistake I grabbed and pulled out the piston arm. It all came out, including the spring inside. It was out for 5 sec maybe until I put it back in. Some fluid came out and for sure air - in So after the replacing of the shoes and drum I drive the car and have the 3 yellow lights and the red brake light. I used the techstream I have now and code is C1344 - RL wheel. So I obviously caused damage to the system I clear the code and the car drives for hundreds of miles with no problem, BUT the moment i press the brakes I would say beyond 50% brake pedal then the code comes back up and brakes work only as conventional (no regen brakes) This happens every few days as some cars cut me off so I have to slam on the brakes. Then I clear the code and drive the car perfectly . This has been for lets say 3 weeks now and there is no brake fluid leak from the RL wheel for that period. What should I do to stop this?
NO, I didnt bleed the brakes. I have the techstream if this would help but I dont know how to. Tried but I think I do something wrong and the Techstream shows me error. I am sure I do something wrong
I found this. Replacing brake fluid and bleeding brakes on a GEN II Prius without Techstream | PriusChat This is for doing a fluid flush, you can skip that part and just do the bleeding part.
Thank you for the link. I have read this article but was not optimistic as i had the techstream thinking is better but as of right now i am going to try it in a few days
