Starting on Jan 1st , 2017, you get a $5,000 tax credit for purchasing a new Prius Prime. Prior to 2017, it was a calculation of purchase price × battery size ÷ 100 but that's all changed. If you finance the purchase , you can opt to have the finance copy take the $5k off the initial price and finance the rest , then the finance company gets the credit from the State. If you bought the Prime outright, you have to wait until tax time next year. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
