Yes, probably a computer "geek" type forum would be a better choice, but I am here, so thought I would give it a try. Over the weekend had a few relatives over, including some teens and was talked into buying and downloading BioShock Infinite onto my p/c. I also downloaded and installed (not really sure I did, but someone did) the Gamefly Download Manager, which randomly pops up on the taskbar, even when no one is messing around with games, etc. I tried uninstalling it, but apparently it likes it here and refuses to leave (despite being uninstalled, according to windows). MalWareBytes, Avast and PandaCloud all say my computer is fine, so it is just one of nagging annoying things, but does not seem to do any harm. Last time it popped up, I was able to use task manager and find it is hiding out in C:\Users..... AppData\Local\Apps\.... And so on and so forth for another line or two. Any hints on what to do, I searched the web and sent a note to Gamefly, but no luck. I also tried REVO uninstaller (which did not find it) and another uninstaller top-rated by CNET, again with no luck. Thoughts before I try the computer forums?

A windows system? Win7? You could try System Restore (click start and start typing the words in search). Look for a restore point prior to the weekend. You won't loose data files, it just undoes installs and system changes.
System restore, hmm, I did a restore point middle of last week when I updated WINDOWS 7. It won't uninstall the BioShock game, right? Hey, I paid $7.99 for it!
You could also look in Revo—there's a place you can enter the path manually (if you captured it) that sometimes nudges it into finding the right bits to grab.
It might uninstall your game, but maybe you have a registry code or something for re-install. If the only way to re-install is via that pest program, maybe walk away?
Get the teens you had over the weekend to fix it. My middle aged perspective is that anyone under the age of 20 is a computer genius.
Ursle, looked in startup (I have ccleaner installed, so finding startup is easy) and the little beast was right at the top of the list and enabled. I disabled it. Hope that will do it. Sometimes, I find annoying programs find ways to add themselves back to startup. Thanks, all for the hints. If the startup trick does it, I am happy enough. If not, as suggested, since I know where it is hiding, I could reinstall revo or something similar, make sure to do an updated restore and then try to remove.
You'd think so, but the program does not show up on the CC uninstall list. Only on the list of start-up programs. There is a delete button on that startup list, but I have never used it. Makes me a bit nervous, but nothing ventured....as long as I do a restore, cross my fingers.....
Look in your browser add-ons like I said before. For Chrome click on the 3 line/bar symbol in the upper right hand corner, then settings, then "on startup" and look to see if the add-on is there to be deleted. In Explorer, click on the gear in the upper right hand corner, then internet options, then programs, then manage add-ons, then delete there. Not sure on other browsers as I do not use them, but should be easy enough to look up. If it does not delete there go to Computer and double click, then look in program files and/or program files (x86) and look for remnants of the program to delete.
You can also try Hijack This (HiJackThis | Free software downloads at SourceForge.net) Delete the registry entry... then delete the physical file.
