I used to be an extremely proficient pulse and glider back when I had a Gen3 (almost 80 mpg over 800+ miles). But, man, I've gotten lazy with it now that I have a PiP.

As you all as my witness, I am making a New Year's resolution to work hard on my pulse and gliding technique. Who's with me? :)

i think it's a pip phenomenon. you do so much ev driving, you lose the knack. and when you're hv driving with a wall charge, it's hard (nigh impossible) not to use some juice to sustain that glide.

Actually one of the best uses of both fuels on board the PiP is the pulse with an extended glide (that could use a new name).
Get up to speed in HV then switch to EV to stay at the same speed or just enough to drop very slowly in speed.

Pulse and BEG (battery extended glide)?

:)After almost one year, I'm still learning how best to drive mine. I had very little cold weather last year and I'm having to adjust my EV techniques to make my commute.

I've noticed that pulse/glide and finessing the pedal to EV up the driveway suffers after having a couple of glasses of wine when out to dinner.......

Maybe you shouldn't be driving then after said glasses of wine?

That's ok, try different things. That's what makes PiP so fun to drive. You can do many different things by using each fuel (and heat) at different times.

BEV in comparison would be boring as all you can do to improve is drive slower.
