This morning, I noticed a drop of 4mpg on my MFD readout. Got to thinking that maybe I might have lost one or more of the foam grill inserts, and, if so, wouldn't this be a reverse confirmation that grill blocking works? Sure enough, one of the two inserts in the lower grill had come loose. I replaced it and used cable ties to hold them in place. Full grill blockage gives me 50mpg or so, which I never got in fall/winter before. Outside temps here in Seattle are high 40s low 50s midday. Bob
Hi Bob, At those temps you should be fine. I've heard of people leaving the grill blocked with temps up to 65 or so.
Better be careful, efusco reported some scary numbers from the scan gauge recently with outside temps in the 50's.
