Constant Power Tap In..

    Hello (my first post)
    I'm the owner of a 2012 Prius (vanilla model), I just purchased a Cowon AC1 DashCam..

    Prob is the DashCam has Parking (record) Mode but requires constant power to remain in Parking Mode.. Parking Record Mode means only a sensor is active, and only records if impact or motion is detected.. Are there any detrimental effects to have a 12V tap into the system, say via the fusebox ?

    If the Prius was a "normal" vehicle, I would have no fears of tapping into a 12V source.. Being "special" I need to be sensitive to what I splice and tap into..
