This is at noon today (Thursday): There was an auto wrecker here before; I'd speculate they got a decent cheque when they moved out. There's a strange, brain-dead complacency at work methinks: this doesn't seem to bother anyone.
In Edmonton, the park & ride has a waiting list for monthly holders! So it works, if it's strategically placed.
Maybe people aren't used to it yet? There aren't as many park n rides as before so it's been out of mind for a while. It's not like southern Ontario.
That's hard to figure. It always seemed to me that Vancouverites thought of themselves as very progressive, and the traffic there is no better than in other cities, in my experience. I would have thought they would be clamoring for better options for getting out of their cars.
My sense, they mostly clamour for others to get out of their cars, lol. This skytrain route was completed last December. The expression "central" is a bit of a misnomer: NIMBY moved the track alignment, to a location completely off to the south side of the community, actually beyond the southern limit. I mean: this was auto wrecker territory, lol. This might be a factor too.
