Hi all, Recently replaced 12v aux battery with a yellow top from Amazon that said “it fit”. I have a 2011 prius and ran tge Dr Prius app months prior to replacing with this new battery and i had never encountered where the “battery block voltages” displayed as bar graphs occasionally would turn yellow and red; never experienced this with prior battery but i’m experiencing more ever since installed this new battery. Could I have gotten the wrong battery? This is the specs listed on the amazon site for the battery interestingly enough not on the battery itself. Can you guys verify that i got the correct battery for my 2011? Thx. “Battery Spec: 450 CCA; 575 CA; 66 Minute Reserve Capacity~Non-BCI group size.; Battery is vented to outside of vehicle.; AGM Valve Regulated Lead Acid VRLA is required; YellowTop(R) Deep Cycle Battery; UNBOXED; Group S46B24R; Cold Crank Amps 450; Crank Amps 575; Reserve Capacity 66; Top Terminal; L- 9 5/16 in.; W- 5 1/16 in.; H 8 15/16 in.”
I don't use Dr Prius for anything I don't know even how it works so apparently you can monitor your 12 volt in the Dr Prius app Go figure I thought it was just for the HV system I wouldn't worry too much about all of what you're seeing on the doodad there what is your base voltage of your 12 volt battery in the morning before you sit in the car It's a simple question and it will generally net you a simple reply You want it to be above 12 volts if you want to push it to 12 5 to 12 6 because it's AGM and you say so fine but you need to be above 12 volts after sitting all night or what have you. I doubt you got the wrong battery it fits back there and that's the group size and that is the range of CCAs you can get in that physical size of a 12 volt modern construction automotive type battery so you have the right battery whether the battery you have is storing the voltage correctly and doing its job is another question but it fits in this plugged up and is somewhat working at this moment correct?.. And when your car is on and ready and charging the battery you should be showing something like 13.7 to 14.5 V.
The 12v auxiliary battery that you purchased is the correct one for your car. This battery will NOT affect the hybrid vehicle (HV) battery voltage block values that are shown in the Dr.Prius app. You should not be very concerned with the voltage block bar graph showing yellow. The main thing to look at is the voltage difference between the highest block and the lowest block. You should be concerned when the voltage difference is 0.30v or higher. How many miles on your car? 12 volts is 12 volts, the battery doesn’t matter as long as fits. Some look at capacity and safety, but they have no effect on performance. Whatever your hybrid battery is doing, there’s no relationship
after sitting for about a day in a half, the 12v showed 12.33v Is that under the heading “VOLT DIFF”? If so, i’ve never seen it come close to .3

As stated above Dr Prius is not analyzing your 12v battery. The Ready state of the 12v battery should be 13-15 vdc indicating it is charging. 12.45 seems too low while driving in Ready state. I would be concerned about the red indications on the hybrid battery blocks just from an age standpoint. The hybrid battery could be getting old.
6 duplicate posts, might be a new record. How does it “show”; is this the car’s display, or you’re checking voltage with a digital multimeter, with the car off? if the latter, for a near-new Optima Yellow Top, you should be seeing at least 12.7 volts.
Yes, "VOLT DIFF" in the Dr.Prius app. You will see the highest voltage difference during acceleration or regeneration braking. What is the highest battery block internal resistance shown in the app? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
