I've been considering replacing the HU on my Package III No Nav Prius, and I'm trying to find the answer to the following questions: 1. I know there is a way to use the audio controls on the wheel, but is there a way I can also reuse the built in bluetooth controls and microphone with a replacement HU, or will I need to use the HU and attach another mic somewhere? 2. Is the Sat radio integrated on the stock JBL system? If I want satellite, will I need to get an external tuner/antenna, or can I reuse what is in the car already? Cheers! Phil
1) You can use the bluetooth controls on the nwer kenwood and pioneer HU. There may be others too. Sound quality is often better with the mic included in the kit, and a new mic is not that difficult to install. I'm not sure if anyone ended up using the included microphone. 2) The XM module won't work with any of the after market hu that are popular, so you should factor in the cost of replacing it. You should be able to use the antennae though. Someone please chirp in if you have had problems.
