I thought GM had already announced a new 1.6 liter diesel for the 2017 Cruze (GM Eyed U.S. From Inception of ‘Whisper Diesel’ | Technology content from WardsAuto)? Have they changed their minds since "TDI -gate"?
The Cruze is getting a 1.6L or 1.7L diesel for the 2017MY, which is also when the hatchback arrives. The Colorado and GMC twin got a 2.8L this year. edit: I heard about about the Cruze diesel in CleanMPG's article about the hatch. A GM rep comment there was that the diesel was still on.
