before I step foot into a dealer, I was wondering if anyone knows how the good the supply of new priuses is currently? Are there still shortages? Are people paying MSRP, under, over? I'm in the northern california region
prius are fairly scarce, with no let up in sight. you'd be lucky to find one at msrp. before stepping into a dealer, contact them by phone or net. confirm inventory and price. don't go by what they show online for inventory.
I second @bisco I found that the dealers had sold cars on their sites for 2 weeks after sold and cars they are expecting sometime this year. If you find one expect to pounce on it.
Just searched Toyota.co.uk for Excel grade “nationwide” revealed 36 2016-2019 and 4 2019+ Prius. is it the same situation in the USA?
I'm embarrassed to say that I am paying over. Basically waiting on the car to arrive, supposed to this week. Put down 1K to hold it. out the door is looking like 37... No prius in stock near me, and after calling various dealerships with various responses, one dealer said they were getting one in. They called me back and it was the LE I wanted with the right color scheme and all, so I said yes. Very little bargaining room and still little stressed about it. I can still back out if need, but I know I won't want to. Ive been waiting a prius for a long time.
