Does the 3rd gen and Prius v wagon share the same Cusco rear sway bar? I was on the cuscoincusa.com and the part numbers are the same...Can someone confirm or had first hand experience? Thanks
Yes... 2012-2014 Toyota Prius Sway Bar, Rear Sway Bar, Suspension, Stabilizer Bar; Juicedhybrid.com 2012-2013-2014 Toyota Prius V Sway Bar, Rear Sway Bar, Suspension, Stabilizer Bar; Juicedhybrid.com
Good to know, thanks! This leads to another question, can I use the Prius Plus TRD sway bar on the v wagon?
In deciding whether or not to get the Cusco rear sway bar I crawled under my v and looked at the attachment points. These are at the bottom of the coil spring mounts where vertical wheel movement can be better controlled by a sway bar. Looking at the situation I can see that a sway bar will dampen the inside wheel lift in tight, higher G corners. It will keep my v from looking Volkswagen-like silly in corners (inside rear tire lift-off) when I autocross it and give me better control on those exciting off ramps. Plus, a bit more weight in the rear can't hurt. Given that the v is generally a "grocery getter" and is not driven hard by (most) soccer moms I can see why Toyota decided to save weight by not adding a sway bar. But we enthusiasts like spirited driving and we "need" that sway bar.
