My daughter just got a 2007 and looking for a dash cam after she got into a bit of a fender bender. Any recommendations? Anything I should stay away from? Been looking at ones with Starvis 2, so far a 70mai A810, Redtiger F7NP and a VIOFO A229. They all have mixed reviews so all seem hit or miss from a quality perspective. Wanted to see if anyone had a recommendation from an installation/old car perspective lol.

    Thanks!

I'm a fan of Blackvue dashcams, some of which include that sensor.

I especially like the security of knowing there is no lithium battery in there; nothing likely to start a fire when it's 150°F in there in July.

We have one in the Prius and another in our other car. Installation was pretty similar for both- I found 12V ignition-switched power available in the rearview mirror mount area and made a little pigtail that hangs out to where the camera is mounted.

Both have been working perfectly for years now.
