[IMG] Hi there, Long time lurker, first time poster.

These forums have helped me a ton over the years and thought maybe y'all could help be from losing my mind on this one.

I have a Gen 2 with 270k on it and trying to get it to 300k. This noise just started and I cannot figure out what the heck it is. It's not the little panel that covers the ECU, I already pulled that. It's not anything in the 2 glove boxes as they have been emptied out. it sounds kinda like it's behind the glove boxes?
anybody ever have this and deal with this?

I guess you're in the rust belt so 300K and about that 25-year mark probably will be about it or I'm from that's half broke in 300,000 The noise you're probably hearing is maybe the vents hunting for where they're supposed to be coming out of One of the two or three motors on the air conditioning heating system or the HVAC system they can make those silly noises I can't see your video because it's not allowed or whatever I don't know behind the glove box is interesting this is from you sitting in the driver's seat does it go away if you turn the fan or the blower off of the HVAC system? If it is a clicking noise kind of like crickets probably be your break actuator but until lights come on on the dash I'd leave it alone

I tried linking an imgur of a video recording of the sound but apparently it failed. My apologies for the lack of description as I thought that would speak for itself.

    lets try this:

I was able to get the video to work in my subsequent post.

to answer your questions it seems more of a "clip or bolt loosened over 20 years" thing than something else. HVAC settings don't make a difference. it only happens ove rough ground with lots of quick transients.
