Recently a red warning light has started flashing (blinking) when the car is not running and the key fob is out of the ignition. This light is red and in the shape of the car with a "key" symbol inside the car symbol. Can anyone tell me what this means and how to rectify the problem?

The car and key symbol are for the engine immobilizer (standard on all Prius). I don't have an alarm system on my car, and I get the symbol whenever the car is off. For the other dash icons, your owner's manual has a wealth of information in it!
