I hope you can help guys, Prius 2010 UK model, rattle noise coming from the dashboard between the speaker grill and the A shaped trim/glass window driver side (UK model) every time I accelerate,is there constantly all the time, is driving crazy, 9 hours a day in the car most of the week and this bloody annoying rattle.can't stant it anymore. Help me please
sorry, i can't offer anything specific, but there are a few threads on 2010's with squeaky dash's. some have found solutions by putting felt in between the rubbing surfaces. (requires some disassembly) and i think one person found it in the glovebox. all the best!
OP - that's a known problem with the 2010s...it's a defective right fender clip. If you take it to the dealer, they will need the car for a day or two to remove the fender to gain access to the bad clip. Sorry, the warranty for that has long passed. I posted a solution to it but it means jamming clean rags into a small hole under the hood hinge and packing it fairly tightly to stop the vibrations. If you are interested, do some searching here for buzzes, rattles, etc. and you will find it. Most owners with the problem took it in for the repair, but I don't know how much dealers charge for it now - especially in the UK.
I did find some of posts related to my problem, I seem to understand that there is a T-SB-0064-12 . I gave this TSB number to the Toyota garage but they say they have no record of this TSB ?
Hi OP, I have the exact same rattle you have. You captured it really well in the video. I have my 2010 Prius new in 2010. Been bought to dealer multiple times for that noise. At that time, The TSB was not issue yet. By the time it was issued, I already passed the 36k warranty. I didn't waste my energy to flight to have the dealer to perform the TSB. 1) I learned to turn up the radio every time I drive now. 2) I heard some people reported that the rattle noise is still there even with the TSB performed. I have a copy of the TSB. Let me know if you want a copy of it. I never attempted to perform the TSB repair myself because it looks complicated and it requires to remove the little window. Good luck to you. RL
