I have a 2002 Prius w/ 50,000+ miles on it. I tried starting it yesterday and it wouldn't. I've read a few posts about the auxillary battery being the possible cause. When I called the dealer he said we'd have to bring the car in. Cute. B) I don't understand why the entire car has to be present for the battery to be checked and/or charged? Anybody else have this issue or an answer?

It's possible that they want to check for any error codes to see if they can find out why the battery is bad.

Try jump starting it. If it starts, your 12V battery is fried. If not, it's tow time.

What you could do is just mal the battery to the Dealership.
