Hi all, I am currently considering a purchase of a 2010 and would like remote start. We're close to signing papers, and then the dealer let me know that I would be getting a separate fob for my remote start, meaning that I will have to carry two fobs on my ring. Does that sound right as a dealer install? I may be off base but it seemed odd to me. I figured you guys would know Thanks in advance!!
Doesn't sound right to me. I had them install a remote start on mine (picked it up last week) and the unlock button is used to start the car (pressed 3 times and held 3 seconds)... one FOB. I guess it depends on the starter, but an "OEM" one should integrate into your main FOB(s)..
OEM remote starter has one key fob which is what comes with the car. As Savantster stated, you press the unlock button three times.
He is selling you an after market. The one that comes factory is in the original key fob. I just bought my prius yesterday and picking it up tomorrow. I inquired on the remote start.
