Did a retrofit on my wife's 08 Prius. Turned out pretty well. 100 times better than the stock halogens! Morimoto Mini H1's and Apollo 2.0 flats from TRS. Here's what they look like. Good 'ole inadequate halogen headlights. Testing out the fit of the projectors and kind of taken apart. Test fitting the halo and shroud fitment. And it's time for some paint. First the outer pieces. Painting the edges of the reflector housings for a better flow. Throwing some black on the Apollo 2 flat shrouds. I'll be putting some pink accents on these once the paint has cured. Somewhat reassembled. Looks much better! Added some pink LEDs for demon eye action!! I just finished modding the Mini H1's and just need to lay down some more paint and trim the shrouds to fit. Got some pink down on the shrouds. Somewhat assembled with the pink demon eyes on. Assembled.
Good looking retro. I am partial to the Lexus RX AFS projectors with Acura TSX clear lenses. That's what I put in my civic and my prius. The Leaf LEDs are nice enough for now though. For now...
I wonder if UV LEDs will ever pass certification for lighting up materials that naturally fluoresce. Science from Virginia Tech
Sick! Nice work. Did you use an xb halo from TRS as well? Do you mind sharing the detail on the LEDs for the DEs? Of course you can't post a retrofit thread without proper beam shots! Never mind oem, we all know they suck, let's see those MH1s! Hopefully these retrofits help motivate people to upgrade their own lighting. Cheers, Evan
I did use the xb halo's from TRS. I'll post up how I did the LEDs here shortly, been pretty busy. I highly recommend everyone do this, lighting is simply amazing!
Can you show pics of the wiring? I'm in the middle of a retrofit and getting everything to work is a B***H.
