My car wont start and I have replaced the auxilary battery. The engine doesnt start so I assume the traction battery is depleted. How can I charge the traction battery from an external source?
If that's the case you'll have codes dash lights on let's maybe read the codes and see what you really have Do you have a DVOM or vote meter You can get access to some terminals and check your battery voltage I've had them sit a long time and start right up just put in the 12 volt in them because they were dead I mean I just picked up a car but sitting almost a year put a 12 volt in it and a car started right up engine running I was amazed More shocked so maybe get the codes see what you have.
there is a battery charge icon on the dash. you can charge it with a grid charger if necessary, but ar 19 years, it might not work.
Prolong Charger.... But, you can use a volt meter to check the voltage. You'll have to remove the cover of the hybrid battery. All pretty simiple.
I found the issue. The orange safety plug/switch was not seating correctly. After resetting the plug , she started right up but the engine was idling rough and misfiring but as she warmed up it became smooth again. Thanks for the advice and replies. Much appreciated.
